La Radice

Osteria, restaurant
Visual identity

A restaurant at the heart of a community

Rogoredo, Milano. An area that was once surrounded by farms and woodlands before the industrial expansion of the city is working hard at changing its reputation and is the fictitious home of La Radice. Taking it’s name from the historic meaning of Rogoredo [Oak Forest] the osteria aims to combine community and affordability with simple Lombardian dishes focusing on vegetables, the art of cooking, community and togetherness.

Type

A hand drawn custom type face has been created referencing old signs from cascini and trattoria with a natural twist. There are playful glyph alternatives bringing a sense of fluidity and movement to the typeface.

Logo

With a focus on food and wine the logo incorporates the two with the typography circling the icon, highlighting the essence of community, eating and togetherness in one logo.

Colour

The core colours are natural, earth based and deep adding a richness to the brand assets. The secondary colours offer a touch of lightness that works across all seasons.

This is a series design sprints intended to challenge and broaden my portfolio over a period of 3 months. These projects are focused across events, community, restaurants as well as food and beverage experiences. While these places and products do not exist in the real world they have been created by a real person.
